- Yes means we test the website with this browser more often than the others and we didn't find any obvious errors or problems.
- Maybe means the browser has very good chance of working with this website, since it supports new web standards well enough. Try it, we don't know for sure, you might get lucky!
-
No / Go Away simply means we have no interest in testing
with this browser version since it's too old, buggy and useless on a modern website
such as Popodeus.
Don't use it here, please! We won't waste our time fixing any problems with it.

Popodeus.com: Supporting modern web standards
Your web browser
Is JavaScript enabled?
We don't like Internet Explorer
In short: If you can, use the latest version of Internet Explorer if you have to use it.
We do our best, but in reality we don't do much when it comes to supporting Microsoft Internet Explorer. Since frankly put, Internet Explorer (before version 8 at least) is horrible.
There are currently three versions of Internet Explorer (IE) out there, versions 6, 7 and 8. Each of them behave a bit differently, they all have their own bugs and problems that have to be avoided or specially coded for in order to provide a consistent experience across browser versions.
Each new version of IE has become much better over the years so that's always a good thing! Unfortunately, testing Popodeus.com to work with each version is almost impossible given the amount of time and money we can invest into this site (= very little).
Having IE 6, 7 and 8 installed on the same computer is simply not possible for us.
To test each and every version of IE, we would need many costly testing machines.
Sorry, but we don't have that many computers to test on, and even if we had that,
we have no interest in paying for separate Windows licenses for each.
What we like...
Popodeus is running on Linux and mainly being tested on Linux. It creates no extra license costs for us to operate.
We have access to Firefox 3.5, Firefox 3.6, Opera 10 and Chromium 6.0. Sometimes on a Windows XP machine, we try out Internet Explorer 7 or whatever the version happens to be on it. We might soon switch over to a test system with IE 8. This means we will not test with any other version of IE than version eight. Have you already upgraded?
Firefox 3.0, 3.1, 3.5, 3.6?
Our primary supported browser is the latest version of Firefox.
The reasoning is that it's free and behaves in the same way on all operating systems,
and it also has the best add-ons and extensions available, so it's a good browser that does
many things right and is easy to modify to suit your needs.
To see everything as we designed it and to use all features correctly, use Firefox!
Firefox 3.0 and 3.1 are by many technological standards already too old.
They don't support all the fancy stuff we use on Popodeus. We urge you to upgrade as soon as possible!

Opera
Opera is an amazing piece of technology and has lots of
awesome features built in, it's so much more than just a web browser, it does bittorrent too!
On the downside, it doesn't have almost any add-ons that a real web developer or power user needs,
so for the creators of Popodeus it remains unused for most of the time. Also, since it's developed by a private company,
there's always a risk they are tracking your browser activities for monetary (advertisement) gains,
just like Google does.
If you are not concerned about the potential privacy issues and have never tried out Opera before, maybe you should!

Google Chrome
The big newcomer in the browser market, Google is set on world domination with a clean interface,
and their key selling point: fastest web experience compared to any other browser.
Stop waiting for modern JavaScript powered web sites and applications to load, and
use them without the pages lagging.
Google is out there to not only protect but also dictate things in ways we at Popodeus don't feel comfortable with:
20. Additional Terms for Extensions for Google Chrome
20.2 From time to time, Google Chrome may check with remote servers (hosted by Google or by third parties) for available updates to extensions, including but not limited to bug fixes or enhanced functionality. You agree that such updates will be automatically requested, downloaded, and installed without further notice to you.
20.3 From time to time, Google may discover an extension that violates Google developer terms or other legal agreements, laws, regulations or policies. Google Chrome will periodically download a list of such extensions from Google’s servers. You agree that Google may remotely disable or remove any such extension from user systems in its sole discretion.Terms like these are totally unacceptable, and we will not be using Google Chrome as our main web browser other than some quick testing from "time to time". Google also keeps track on your browsing and search history by unique tracking cookies / identification numbers, so there's always the privacy concern too.

Mobile browsing
Currently, we are not testing this website with any form of mobile device such as Nokia cellphones or the iPhone. Why? We're poor, that's why!
